Richard Ellery WPA Prints

Danvers artist Richard Ellery (1909-1993) created these drawings for the Works Progress Administration, which he joined in 1935. They are two of a series that depicted New Englanders working at their occupations, in this case a fisherman and clam digger. Ellery also created murals for the Danvers Town Hall, which still exist, and painted numerous portraits of Danvers residents.
